Alumni Program

Since many Providence residents are Chicagoland natives, many of our alumni call Chicago and the North Shore home.

Our goal is for men to leave the Providence Farm homes with a place to live, roommates in recovery, a job, educational opportunities, AA or other peer support home groups, a sponsor, friends, and FUN within Northbrook or on the North Shore.

Some go on to our Leadership Program where they benefit from our support along with continued connection to other alums, close proximity to both of our homes, and an opportunity to help our residents.

Our overall alumni program is integral to our program, since a vibrant recovery community relies on the mentoring of other recovering substance users.

Providence graduates who remain in the area stay connected to current residents. They serve as peer support, mentors, role models, sponsors and friends. We encourage you to give back to the community who supported you.

Providence graduates are always part of the Providence community. They may continue to see Providence therapists, and will join in community recreation activities, participate in Providence group programming and community service.

Likewise, Providence families are always our families. They may continue with Providence parent support groups, therapists, and appropriate programming. We hope residents’ families will continue to stay connected to Providence and stay invested in mentoring families who are new to our community.

We are all in this together.

We believe, families and communities must heal together

Navigating the journey is something no one can do alone.
