What to Bring

Providence residents will be provided with closet and drawer space for their belongings.

The basement storage area can be used as extra storage space, but we ask residents to be reasonable with their packing limits.
Comfortable and season-appropriate clothing
(washer/dryer is located in-house)
  • Socks, underwear
  • Pants, shorts
  • Sweatshirts, sweaters, t-shirts
  • Button-down or collared shirt
Active wear
  • Work-out clothes and athletic shoes
  • Garden appropriate clothes/shoes
  • For winter: Snow boots, snow pants, long underwear, hats and gloves
  • Swimsuit, sunglasses, sandals, ball-cap
Optional
  • Musical Instruments
  • Cleats and sporting equipment (glove, balls, etc)
  • Mountain or road bikes + helmet
  • Skis or snowboards
  • Art supplies
  • Golf clubs
  • Fishing or camping gear
Electronics
  • Cell phone (required)
  • Laptop
  • Tablet
  • iPod
Personal Identification
(residents will have a personal lockbox assigned at intake for their personal effects. Any cash in excess of $100 must be kept in the safe in the Providence office).
  • Driver’s license or state ID
  • Health insurance cards
  • Copy of social security cards
  • Debit/credit card
Bedding / Linens
  • Sheets and comforters for twin extra long beds
  • Towels and wash cloths
  • Personal toiletries
  • Pillow
  • Alarm clock
  • Approved medication (medication must be stored in a locked containers and approved by Providence staff at intake. Residents must consent to follow Providence’s medication protocols.)
What NOT to bring
  • Unapproved medications. All unapproved medications will be taken by Providence staff to a Safe Drop location.
  • Pornography of any kind
  • Inappropriate wall decorations and clothing
  • Weapons of any kind, including mace
  • Diet, work-out supplements or boosters
  • Over the counter medications or sleeping pills
  • Mouthwash or other toiletry items containing alcohol
