I am a mentor at Providence Farms. I help out the residents in a myriad of ways from providing transportation and monitoring household activities to addressing, and, hopefully, solving problems.
After trying other rehab and care programs that didn’t work for me, I entered PF and realized that I needed to change something or I would remain stuck in an endless cycle.
Choosing PF for sober living was the best choice I’ve ever made. Their holistic, community based approach was far different from the isolated after care I previously tried.
Drawing on my experiences at PF, and in rehab, I feel I can offer a wealth of experience and support to other clients.
The best part about PF is the people. PF is unique in the fact that it fosters a sober community, not solely treatment. The staff at PF is what makes this place so special. They are experts in their field and have a unique and well run organization.
As a staff member, I’m able to see behind the scenes. I know how much time and effort gets put into each client. No issue is too small or problem too large to tackle.
I hope families and residents get a sense of relief out of PF. For me personally, my relationship with my parents has grown stronger than it ever was. Also, I now see how much more there is to life when free of addiction. Both of these would not be possible without the help of PF.
My advice for those coming into Providence Farm: Trust the process! No one is able to change overnight, especially when it comes to addiction. There will be successes and failures, but ultimately, the highs will outweigh the lows.
I would also like to tell the community that I’m all for having fun. I love to hangout with friends, waterski and workout.
A healthy lifestyle is the best lifestyle.
