When I first came to Providence Farm, I was lost and had no clear sense of identity. I spent many of my teenage years in addiction, without any principles or ethics to guide me. Providence Farm welcomed me with open arms and introduced me to a community of young men, all walking the path of recovery together. It was in this community that I began to find myself and start living a life I am proud of.
Recovery has been the toughest battle I’ve ever fought, and the mentors at Providence Farm, who supported me during my time as a client, were invaluable. My goal as a mentor at PF is to provide the same kind of support and be the same help to others in early recovery as was provided to me in my own time of need.
As a mentor at Providence Farm, I do my best to offer support primarily through sharing my lived experiences, sharing tools, and sharing stories that helped me, as well as things that were detrimental to my sobriety. I enjoy building relationships with clients and working closely with them to help each one figure out what works best to help them stay sober.
Helping others who are walking the same path I once did is not only rewarding but it also helps keep me grounded in my own sobriety and recovery. I found a family here at PF, and I’m excited to continue growing this family while helping others on their own journey of recovery.
